Glad you're here and I hope you find some excellent nuggets of inspiration sprinkled throughout the site. A quick intro and then that's enough about me.
I'm Drew, CoFounder of Peppershock Media, Owner of DudeJellies.com and author of this 'a here Star Stuff Industries blog. My background and day job are in video production and marketing. Clear back in high school, my buddies and I were the ones running around with cameras, causing trouble, making short films and dreaming of the day we would make it big in Hollywood. As that didn't necessarily come to fruition, I did still manage to get a degree, marry my wife and partner in the media business and have successfully run that for the past 20 years.
Corporate marketing and video production don't allow for a ton of risqué content and I've had all this pent up need to create work that I would enjoy. This site is intended as an avenue for me to rant and for you to read...and hopefully enjoy. As a marketer I know it's best practice to niche down and focus on a specific topic, but since this is my site and I can do whatever I want, that's what I'm going to do! Whatever I want. Get ready for a cacophony for your mind. Little bit of this and a little bit of that. I'm a big movie, music, space, philosophy, zen, tao and "stuff" enthusiast.
You'll likely see references to The Big Lebowski, often, as well as Aphex Twin, Tool, Puscifer, Boards of Canada, Phantogram, NIN, Caddyshack, Alan Watts and Henry David Thoreau. If you caught on to the theme there, great. We'll get along just fine.
I want this to be an interactive vehicle for constructive conversation. I tend to pose a lot of questions in my writing and I'd love it if you came and gave me some notes.
We're all here for a short while. Might as well make the most of it and enjoy the journey.
Onward.
Drew
